"The beginning of our most important and longest-standing partnership, propelling MSC into new markets and establishing a 50-year legacy with ATOM."
During this time, MSC opened several branches to better serve key clients in the U.S. shoe industry, expanding its presence and offerings.
1978 – MSC Nashville, TN Branch Opens
1980 – MSC Manheim, PA Branch Opens
1982 – MSC Manchester, NH Branch Opens to serve Dexter Shoe
1983 – MSC Cincinnati, OH Branch Opens to
support US Shoe (Nine West)
1985 – MSC Atlanta, GA Branch Opens
These branches allowed MSC to support clients like US Shoe (Nine West) in Cincinnati, Brown Shoe & Florsheim in St Louis, and Dexter Shoe in New Hampshire.
Facing a decline in the U.S. shoe and leather industry, Steve Goellner Sr. refocused MSC on Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, and Packaging. Today, these sectors make up 90% of MSC’s business sectors.
As the industry shifted, MSC consolidated its operations to focus on its core locations in Cincinnati and Saint Louis.
MSC partnered with Guidolin Davide, Imesa, FEBA, ATOM MSC LLC, Chiesa Artorige, and International Machinery to continue its growth in industrial markets.
